So,if you’re local you have probably heard of the success of Tring Radio by now. Created during our first lockdown it has seen so many people through some dark days and keeps on increasing in popularity.
One of their amazing hosts is Jackie Travers. She has the lunchtime slot on a Monday from 12-1 and has some fascinating guests on due to her fascinating life!
Jackie was part of the Young Generation dance troupe in the 1970s which saw her tour the world and appear on TV shows such as The Two Ronnies, Seaside Special and many more. They also made an appearance on Top of The Pops when their single Summertime Special reached no 4 in the charts.
In 2017 the group reformed to dance in a show to celebrate the 100th birthday of Dame Vera Lynn at the London Palladium and on sunday night they were dancing on BBC4 in the Dame Vera Lynn tribute show, available on catch up.. She is a dancer, dance instructor, actress and presenter, and has worked with many amazing artists such as Madonna.
Jackie popped in to Moo before lockdown for a quick chat which resulted in me sponsoring her show and of course Jackie trying on lots of things - safely and socially distanced of course!!
Jackie strikes me as having a mixture of trendy and classic styles. she loves biker boots, nice trainers and a rouched boot with a skirt. Jackie has a lot of coats and jackets, loves following trends and likes to wear a crisp white shirt with a fitted jacket and smart trainers...very relaxed classic style.
What l love about Jackie is that she knows what suits her - with her amazing hourglass figure and super long legs, she wears low necklines that compliment her upper body and likes short skirts and skinny jeans that compliment those legs!
Jackie does hate something that most of us love however....... leopard print!! Having worn lots in the 70s she feels that it’s had its day. ( However I did manage to get her in a leopard print blouse for a photograph!!)
she believes you should wear your own style - and I totally agree with that!!
Here’s Jackie in some of our Moo favourites - so if you’re sitting back enjoying a midday cuppa on Monday, don’t forget to tune in to her chat show!!
