How are we all doing? It’s such a weird time at the moment - half the time I don’t know what to do with myself and the other half I seem to be really busy - with home schooling, running Moo and constantly feeding my growing son!
Anyway one thing I think we should all do in lockdown is sort out our wardrobes. If you’re like me you probably have a very full wardrobe with 40% of things you don’t wear, 25% of things you wear constantly and 35% of things you wear now and again. Yes, it can be frustrating when you peek inside and think I have NOTHING to wear but I think this can easily be sorted out!
Once you have a wardrobe you love life will become so much simpler!!
So here are a few little pointers to get you started on your journey to a better wardrobe and now is the time to do it!
Firstly you should think about those percentages - what activities do you do and what amount of time do you spend on each one? ie do you spend 50% at work, 40% chasing the kids around and 10% doing (hopefully) what you like? Then that’s how you devide up your wardrobe. So take a good look at what you have and be ruthless about what you actually wear for each activity.
Secondly Take a look at the colour you have in your wardrobe. I used to gravitate to black and grey, but once you start wearing colour you never go back! Hold it up to your face to see if it brightens your skin - it’s a good indication of what suits you. If it doesn’t suit get rid of it as it will make you feel less confident. However if your favourite colour doesn’t suit you, don’t worry you can always wear it on your bottom half, or on your feet!
Lastly I would put a few pieces that blend colour wise and that suit your skin tone together so that you can build your wardrobe around it. Don’t forget your neutrals include khaki and navy as well as black white and grey.
Once you’ve been ruthless and paired down your wardrobe you can then sell anything worth selling and recycle the rest. Then you can buy some additional newbies ( from moo of course !!!) to complete your new slimline wardrobe. I am here at your disposal for any help you might need so just drop me an email. If you have a favourite item that doesn’t go with anything else you have get in touch to see if moo can help you create some outfits around it. I can also give you a virtual style session if you like to help you with your task!
I hope this has been helpful!
happy sorting and stay safe xxx
